Bac Ha is a famous destination in Lao Cai province. It is home to many ethnic tribes with different colorful culture. The trail from Cao Son to Bac Ha is the route to enjoy the awesome, spectacular landscape and to savour the friendly welcome of local hill tribes
BRIEF ITINERARY:
Night 01: taking the night train to Lao Cai city from Hanoi
Day 01: Cao Son exploratioon
Explore Cao Son beauty by visiting Ham Rong cave and Cao Son tribal villages
Day 02: Cao Son - Nam Mon
Embark on a trek downhill to Nam Mon. Enjoy the impressive landscape. Home stay
Day 03: Nam Mon - Bac Ha
Continue the trail to Bac Ha, visiting local people on the way. Overnight in Bac Ha
Day 04: Bac Ha - Lao Cai
Leave Bac Ha for a short walk to plum plantation and tribal villages. Back to Lao Cai city, taking the night train to Hanoi.
DETAILED ITINERARY:
Night 01: Hanoi – Lao Cai
Taking the overnight train from Hanoi train station
heading to Lao Cai city at 21.15pm.
Day 01: Cao Son exploration (B, L, D)
Am: after having breakfast in Lao Cai, we are traveling to Muong Khuong town. On arrival,we drop off Ham Rong cave. This cave is located near the spring and really awesome with natural stalagmites and stalagtites. Driving uphill to Cao Son ecolodge for lunch.
Pm: embark on a trek down to the mountain hill of Lapantan to visit Dao tribes ( 10km).This is one of themost colorful tribes who reserve their culture in beauty which is reallyworth discovering. Return to the main lodge
for dinner and overnight.
Day 02: Cao Son- Coc Ly - Nam Mon (B, L, D)
Am: we head out for a trek to Sicala village. This is the oldest village in Cao Son. Stop to admire the vista of
Chay river and green valley, heading to Coc Ly for lunch.
Pm: cross the suspension bridge to enter Bac Ha district then start walking uphill to reach Nam Mon. Arriving in late afternoon, home stay with Tay family.
Day 03: Nam Mon - Bac Ha (B, L, D)
Am: start walking uphill over the corn fields. Having rest in the village of Flower Hmong. Picnic lunch
Pm: set your pace on the gravel road leading to Bac Ha. Car transfer from Nam Mon to Bac Ha town. Stay at leisure. Overnight in Bac Ha.
Day 04: Bac Ha adventure ( B, L, D)
Am: set out for a visit to Na Hoi, a very peaceful village on the highland of Bac Ha. This destination is untouched
and unspoilted. Back to Bac Ha for lunch.
Pm: driving back to Trung Do village, enjoy the scenic boat ride upstream to Tien Cave then return to Bao Nhai
where our car is await to transfer you to Lao Cai city. Dinner and taking overnight train back to Hanoi.
